Chemistry 20

Chemistry 20 is a specialized science course that students will typically take in their second year of high school. Being a 20 level course, it is an introduction to many of the basic concepts needed to understand advance chemistry concepts. It is incredibly important that students have a strong understanding of the concepts introduced in Chemistry 20 to succeed in later chemistry courses.

The only requirements to register for our Chemistry 20 class is that you have access to a regular calculator and that you have a basic understanding of the Chemistry material covered in Science 10.

Below are some of the key curricular outcomes that you will meet in our classes.

Curricular outcomes

  • Identify intramolecular and intermolecular forces of a compound
  • Accurately predict reactions
  • Determine the volume of an ideal gas
  • Calculate for the pH of a solution
  • Understand the necessary laboratory terminology and procedures needed for a dilution
  • Accurately interpret titration results
  • Understand how to calculate for different chemical species using stoichiometry
